Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Trailer Hits The YouTubes (Video)
We all knew it was coming sooner or later, but once again Modern Warfare has reared its rather notable head once again -- this time in video form. The trailer made its initial appearance during the NBA Western Conference Finals this evening, and as one might expect, quickly made its way onto YouTube. VG247 reports that Activision's official YouTube page quickly followed suit, "with unofficial sources being rapidly shut down" after its upload. The trailer gives a rather cryptic introduction to the plot, while showcasing aerial, underwater, and vehicle-based gameplay, in addition to the land-based FPS goodness we've all come to know and love.
Expectations are understandably high for the forthcoming chapter in the Modern Warfare saga, with the console versions of both Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 receiving an aggregate 94% on metacritic (links to the PS3 version given for the sake of brevity). 94% is remarkably impressive for one game alone, so fans of the series do have some hope that developer Infinity Ward will once again be able to work its magic on the massively popular series. While games like Modern Warfare aren't really my style -- I prefer my heroes either augmented or decked out in charming Japanese stylings, and my settings nightmarishly dystopian -- I will no doubt eventually succumb to its charms. Like God of War before it, chances are my aversion to "manly-man" (or seemingly so) games will be torn asunder, necessitating an admission I was wrong yet again, and leaving me with zero free time. Ho hum.
