Duke Goes Gold... And Offers Up His Big Package For Pre-Ordering!

Well, it appears that Duke Nukem Forever is nearly upon us. 2K Games and Gearbox Software are very proudly announcing that the game that nobody ever thought would see the light of day has gone gold and will most definitely be releasing on June 10 internationally and June 14 in North America on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.

"Duke Nukem Forever and its journey to store shelves is legendary," said George Broussard, creative director at 3D Realms. "It's an epic tale of four game development studios that banded together and did the unthinkable and shipped the unshipppable. When you play this game you will be reminded of that epic journey at every turn and in every small detail of the game. The character, attitude, interactivity, gameplay and political incorrectness combine to make a Duke Nukem game a unique gaming experience. In the timeless words of Duke Nukem it's finally time to 'Come Get Some'. Come be a part of gaming history."

And if you pre-order the game (or buy a copy of Borderlands Game of the Year Edition), you'll get a Duke First Access Club token which will allow you to play a demo of the game starting on June 3. Personally, I've never been a big fan of getting a demo only if you pre-order. A demo is supposed to help you decide whether or not you want to make the purchase!

Of course, if you don't even need a demo because you're just that big of a Duke fan, then you might be interested in the Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition. Featuring a Duke bust, an art book, postcards, sticker, poker chips, a comic book, dice and more, the collector's edition will run you $89.99 as opposed to the regular $59.99.

But pre-ordering Duke Nukem Forever will get you a few different bonuses in addition to the First Access Club depending on where you go. Over at GameStop, you'll get "Duke's Big Package," which includes an in-game EGO boost, big head mode and a T-shirt pack to play dress up with. Over at Amazon.com, they're offering three free MP3 music downloads. Walmart has a pretty sweet Duke Nukem Forever trucker hat, but not the First Access Club code.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
