Videos: Brink, LEGO Pirates, And Dream Trigger Launch Week

Ahh, the spring launch season! New boxes blooming on store shelves, reviews coating sites like an opinionated pollen, and--best of all--launch trailers! The last chance for publishers to show you why theirs is the game you need to shell out for. Watch and learn!

Up above we have Brink, from Bethesda Softworks and developed by the team behind Quake Wars: Enemy Territory. This is the first time Splash Damage have put their skills to work on an original IP, and the videos certainly set it apart from the usual shooters.

Then, after the jump, you'll notice a blocky man in eyeliner sashaying toward you. Is it LEGO Labyrinth? Nope! LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean features Jack Sparrow & his piratey buddies as they traverse all three of Disney's Pirates movies, then offer a mute, cute look at PoTC: On Stranger Tides, out later this month.

Finally, 3DS owners will be delighted to be able to put down Nintendogs at last, since D3Publisher's Dream Trigger hits today as well. For something that claims to be "shooter madness meets Lumines meets MC Escher," this game certainly has its genres so firmly scrambled that a mere glance conveys only that you've been dropped somewhere between a disco and TR0N. Still, as a fan of shmups and rainbows, I'm looking forward to giving it a whirl!

So which game's tickling your trigger finger this week?

I tried a few hours of Brink on the ps3 and quite fustrated. Meaning, the game is not terrible but after so many months talking about the S.M.A.R.T. system, it is just not that great. If feels like a generic shooter, the characters are really slow and the whole parkour movements are way less dinamic than I expected.
"to put down Nintendogs"
Who wants to kill puppies?! XD
