Well, I was misled, and we had some comings and goings this week in Narnia. I also slacked off a bit, and was rewarded... not for slacking off, though! I slacked off after I was rewarded. Totally unrelated!
Being the first of the month, I was thrilled to find Pete standing outside my home. Unfortunately, I forgot that my pockets were all full of old mail, so he couldn't deliver any new packages. Sigh. So I had to go and delete some letters, leave and then come back to town, because that's the only way to get Pete to do his damn job. God forbid you just talk to him again and he recognizes that you've emptied your pockets enough to give you your package. I hope he doesn't expect a tip come Christmas. Anyway, the letter read: "With a piece of furniture this glitzy, one has to wonder if the contents are as impressive. You can fill it with whatever you want, though. We won't tell!" And as you can see from the picture above, Nintendo sent along a golden dresser. My house gets gaudier by the day! Whee!
It had been a few days and Rhonda hadn't said anything more about leaving, so I thought she'd changed her mind. Guess not. Maybe she'll find a town where giant animals who wear too much makeup are more welcome, since she apparently didn't think we were all that! Oh, and as you can see in the background of this photo, some people shouldn't wear that skin shirt my bf made and put in the store. On some people it just looks weird, but on Curly, he actually does look naked. It's disturbing.
Also this week, I went to see a concert, so I wasn't able to visit town one day to water my wilting flowers and chat with folks. Chatting is whatever, but it turns out if you miss a day, you've really got a lot of work to do the next time you step outside of your house! I didn't notice that any flowers had actually died off completely, so if any did, there weren't enough to be noticeable. But man, were there giant clusters of wilted flowers. I was kind of hoping that it might rain so it would save me the effort, but no such luck. Oh well! If I want my town to be beautiful, I've gotta work at it!
I was so scatterbrained this week that I was walking around towards the end of the week and saw a house in a place where there didn't used to be a house. I checked the sign on the front and it said that Lolly lived there. I was so confused, because I honestly didn't remember that Rhonda had actually moved out! I seriously thought for a second, and couldn't recall getting a good-bye letter. Of course, you can see it clearly above, but a few days later I'd already forgotten about her. Sigh. Well, they say when you get old, the memory is the first thing to go! Seriously, though, Lolly looks fun. Cute, but not cutesy. Cute and fun. Just the way I like 'em! Hopefully she'll last longer than Rhonda!
