Capcom is letting out more details about its other forthcoming 3DS survival horror game, Resident Evil: Revelations. The games developers have already let it known that Revelations would feature a return to a classic high-tension/low-ammo gameplay style, and that it would feature series favourites Jill Valentine and
gay favourite pin-up model Chris Redfield. Now, Capcom has released more details, as well as a new trailer (above) and two gameplay videos. P.S. to Capcom: Bonus points for the old-school logo splash at the beginning of your Capcom Unity vids.
The new trailer sets up the basic plot of the game, whereby Jill and new sidekick Parker Luciani are dropped on board a seemingly derelict ship to search for lost teammates Chris and his new sidekick Jessica. This trailer is much more Jill-heavy than the one from last E3, and Capcom's blog suggests that much of the game is centred around her search for Chris, who (the new trailer suggests) is either far, far away...or that bit is a flash-back and he's actually the dude in the gas mask toward the end of the video. The shambling creatures onboard the boat are brand-new to the series, and appear to have gross slimy (and oddly phallic) sucker things coming out of their mouths. Capcom is promising touch-screen functionality, the ability to switch between over-the-shoulder and first-person views, a new scanning device that shows enemy weaknesses and the location of certain items a bit like the Metroid Prime visor system, and underwater gameplay. I wonder how slow and shambling those slimy creatures are once they get in to the ocean...
Check out the two gameplay videos, showcasing the game's atmosphere, new bad guys, and scanning device, after the jump.
