Rumor: Best Buy Offering Playable Robin Challenge Maps For Batman: Arkham CIty Preorder

robin-batman.jpg

For a little while, Best Buy had updated their Batman: Arkham City listing to include the following bit of information:

Get a Best Buy exclusive downloadable Robin character so you can play as Robin in two challenge maps when you preorder Batman: Arkham City

They pulled it down pretty quickly but some spry interneters over at ArkhamCity.co.uk grabbed a screenshot. I guess that sort of confirms Robin's presence in the game, even if this is the only place he shows up. Are any of you Dick Grayson/Tim Drake/Damian Wayne fans extra psyched now?

Personally, a couple of challenge maps aren't enough to get me to shop at Best Buy, even if I do have a soft spot for the character. Let's hope that the Boy Wonder shows up in some other form in the game, or at the very least Warner Bros. pulls a Rockstar and puts all preorder DLC up for sale a couple weeks after the game comes out. I also wonder if other retailers will get additional character challenge maps, like Batgirl or Catwoman. Anyway, I'm sure that after this mistake, we'll get more specifics soon.

Best Buy also offers money to anti-gay campaigns.

Locke is most definitely correct.

Bestbuy is no less culpable than Target in its wrongs against the lgbt community. Even after all this time, neither companies have made proper amends for their past anti-gay donations.

Please don't support anti-gay corporations.

Like I said, the two challenge maps aren't enough to get me to shop there, reporting the news was more about the fact that there was a preorder bonus at all, and that Robin had been rumored for inclusion in Arkham City for some time.

I've added a link to make my implication explicit, but people should feel free to shop their consciences.

Just throwing this out there, Best Buy has extended health benefits to same sex partners of employees.

I think it was a mistake for Target and Best Buy to donate money to him even if the reason was purely economical. By donating money to a candidate you're supporting the whole deal, not just the parts you like. I'm not saying that it excuses Best Buy, but extending benefits to same sex couples did make a difference for me.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
