Gallery: X-Men: Destiny

So there was a new batch of screenshots released for Activision's X-Men: Destiny, but then I found some older ones that I'd missed somehow. I was excited for this game when it was first announced, but then it somehow dropped completely off my radar until I stumbled upon these screenshots.
I'd been hoping you could create your own character from scratch and join the X-Men, but it seems that you have to choose between three pre-designed characters. On the plus side, you can customize their powers. And although these screenshots have the newbies in street clothes, there are costumes to be had. In fact, wearing the right costume for your powers can unlock special bonuses.Honestly, I'm probably going to play as the girl, because the two guys look too much alike they're kind of generic. Also, I'm afraid I'll accidentally pick the one voiced by Milo Ventimiglia instead of Scott Porter. Sorry as attractive as Milo is, Heroes left a really bad taste in my mouth.
Anyway, X-Men: Destiny is actually set to release this September, apparently on the 27th. And I see that if you pre-order at GameStop, you can get an exclusive Havok suit to wear. Did anyone else forget about this one, or is it just me? I'm intrigued again, mostly because it's coming from Silicon Knights, but it's really going to come down to the gameplay and the story from X-Men comic writer Mike Carey. If those two converge in the right way, we could have a winner. Otherwise, it's just another licensed game destined for the bargain bin...

Hmm, Milo Ventimiglia is also Wolverine in the X-Men anime. I wonder if he'll do a different voice?
I was annoyed that you couldn't create your own character (looks-wise), but I'm still planning on getting it (to be fair, I get most games eventually).
I don't particularly like Mike Carey though. He has a habit of doing annoying things with my favorite characters (mostly turning them into unrepentant killers when they were never dark and having them romance women they have no conceivable interest in).
I'll chose one of the guys, because being gay I prefer playing as and looking at guys. :P
And I hardly think asian schoolgirl/ninja is the pinnacle of originality if you're talking generic.
Plus for me Milo Ventimiglia voicing is a plus. I really like him and while latter series of Heroes weren't as good as the first, people exaggerate massively on how bad it is.
The character designs are atrocious, but I'll probably buy it anyway.
Is a thin male character just too much to ask for outside of a JRPG? Jeez.
