Video: Dead Island Co-Op Trailer
Regular readers and zombie game nuts will remember the Dead Island trailer that went viral back in February. Since then, more details and actual in-game footage has been leaked out in anticipation of the game's September release date (September 6th for NTSC and the 9th for PAL). Now comes a teaser for the game's co-op mode, touted as the only way for players to get all the main characters off the island - an interesting incentive to get gamers to play together. The trailer includes a lot of mottled flesh, gore, running, and stressed-out humans. It also features some of the varied zombie types that will be confronting Banoi's unfortunate visitors. If you're at all interested in the game, or are a fan of zombies in general, be sure to check the trailer out.

I really liked the trailer that went viral in February and it really got me interested in the game. Unfortunately, everything I've learned of the game since then has disappointed me. I expected a scary and emotional game that reflected the feel of the trailer which actually gave me chills and I almost teared up a bit. Dead Island seems to actually have a B-movie type of feel with comically over-the-top characters and gameplay. I think all the recent zombie games have taken the terror out of zombies and the overwhelming emotion one would feel in such a situation. I want a game that reminds us that zombies can actually be scary and can provide an excellent setting for some intense character development and interactions.
Wow it's amazing how much of a let down the actual gameplay footage is compared to it's really touching yet exciting trailers!
