Dynasty Warriors...With Pirates!

Namco Bandai has officially teamed up with Tecmo Koei to produce One Piece: Pirate Musou for the PS3. After much speculation about the Tecmo/Namco team-up, this week's issue of Shonen Jump confirms the title which will see Eiichiro Oda's eccentric pop-art pirates fighting through wave after wave of enemies, Dynasty Warriors style.

While the count down clock on the Namco Bandai website has another day and a half to go before One Piece: Pirate Musou is officially announced, scans of the upcoming Jump issue-reveal have leaked online; sending console game-deprived One Piece fans like this pressed Naruto-hating Franky fanboy into a frenzy.

The scan confirms that the game will include content from the One Piece: New World timeskip, as well as the Marineford arc which takes place immediately prior. However as is the case with most Jump reveals any actual facts about the game are sparse. Fans can look forward to the Tokyo Game Show, and the Namco Bandai site once the countdown completes, for more information on the title. And US fans can begin praying to whomever they pray to that this one gets a release over here. But the PS3 is region free so w/e

You can see the full-sized scan right here.

With any hope this game will feature the fabulous cross-dressing ballerina Mr. 2 Bon Clay and his Frank-N-Furter-esque leader Emporio Ivankov as playable characters.

I can't say with any certainty, but Mr. 2 Bon Clay was at least playable in the fighting games I owned, so he has at least some small chance. They will both most likely appear in the game, especially in Sanji's story. I'm not actually all that familiar with Dynasty Warrior type games, so I don't know how many characters are usually playable.

OH MY GOD! I'm buying a PS3 the moment this game is available! If Bon Clay is a playable character (and with the crazy amount of playable mobile suits in Gundam Dynasty Warriors, I don't see why he wouldn't be,) then I'm going to shit my pants!!

You have to think though, since it was thankfully dropped by 4kids and wasn't really picked up by (I think Viz?) anyone else, who will be doing the voice acting? Or will they actually release the game with the Japanese voices in tact? Like they do for some other games like Record of Argrest(spelling) War?

@Noa,

Funimation picked up One Piece a few years ago, and is redubbing episodes with a new cast at a pretty good clip, as well as subtitling the current episodes from Japan. They've got old and new episodes streaming on Hulu and the official website, including the new dub cast if you want to hear them.
