Katamari Damacy Rolls Onto the Vita

First, I want to apologize, because if you're like me, just looking at this screenshot will start you humming "Laa, la la la la la la laaaa" and then the Katamari Damacy theme song will be stuck in your head for hours. Sorry!
Namco Bandai have announced that Katamari Damacy will be appearing on the PlayStation Vita, and will be using the front touch screen and rear touch pad to introduce touch controls to the series for the first time. So while you will once again be the poor, put-upon Prince rolling up all kinds of weird crap for the King of All Cosmos so he can fix his stupid mistakes, this time you can do it with just a touch. You'll touch the screen to roll it in that direction, and you can use the rear touch pad of the Vita to stretch or squeeze the ball to either pick up extra objects or squeeze through tight spots. (You can see it in action in the screenshots below.)
I'm assuming that you can also use the two thumbsticks to scoot your katamari around, but I would hope that at some point they're going to add motion controls. You'd think that would be a natural for a Katamari game, right? Just tilt the Vita, and it will roll in that direction. I feel like that would be way more intuitive than poking and pinching the screen.

THIS is best announced game for the PSVITA so far! NOW I am interested!
Honestly, my interest in the Vita grows more and more. HGS HD collection, new Katamari, new Uncharted...it looks like it's shaping up to come out of the gate running. I'm really interested in actually holding one to see how it feels, and see how nice the screen is.
Dammit, I meant MGS HD collection. Stupid fingers...
Shin, the screen is GORGEOUS. But I have to admit it's a little large and clunky. Not uncomfortably so, but it is a bit big.
!!!
More Katamari... The PSVita becomes more and more tempting for me...
@Shin Gallon: I was able to get my hands on the PSVita at Gamescom last month and wrote up a review here if you're interested. I didn't really have a good game to play, but I did go over the feel of the system and such.
Actually the iPhone version of Katamari is the first time the series has had touch controls. But this is still pretty exciting.
@FallenAngelEyes Nice write-up. It sounds good, I just hope I'm able to get a d-pad cover thing like I have on my PSP (seriously, Sony, that d-pad design is awful, stop using it!)
