There's been a whole lotta talk about bringing Uncharted to movie theaters, but while the film languishes in development hell, Sony is skipping the middleman and simply premiering the game in theaters!
From October 18-20, Sony is taking over select AMC Theatres in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC to launch Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception on the big screen. And in 3D, to boot!
Members of the Naughty Dog development team will be on hand for a meet-and-greet and will unveil some new content. There will also be multiplayer tournaments, 3D and big-screen gaming, giveaways and more. I doubt you'll be able to actually play the game on the movie screen in 3D that'll probably be reserved for developers but it would still be cool to watch them play through it, I suppose...
Tickets are available at the specific AMC Theaters hosting the event, and there will only be a limited number of them. So if you're interested, just click this link to visit the official website for tickets and more information. There's a General Admission ticket for $25, and an Uncharted 3 Premium Pass for $60 that includes a copy of the game. So that's kind of the best deal, really, if you were already planning on getting the game. You have to give them your address at the event because they'll ship it to you when it is released, but shipping is free, and you were already going to pay $59.99 for it anyway. Plus tax, really, so it's actually saving you money while letting you attend a fun launch event at the same time! Win win!
