Video: Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Featurette
I don't know about you guys, but I'm cautiously optimistic about the new multiplayer aspect of Mass Effect 3. I'm not usually big on multiplayer, but I like that it's co-op instead of competitive. There's still not a whole lot in the way of details yet, but this installment of BioWare Pulse has executive producer Casey Hudson talking it up and making it sounds good. I mean, I know that's his job to sell us on it, but at least for me, it's kind of working. I just wish you didn't have to play multiplayer in order to get the best possible ending. That's kind of weak. Also, there's no actual footage of multiplayer in this video, so don't get excited. It's just a small handful of screenshots, and being that there's no hud or identifying tags above anyone's heads, they're probably not that emblematic of what the final look will be. Still... cautiously optimistic!

You don't.
It just makes it easier to get.
There's a sort of "galactic readiness meter" that you fill up by gathering allies and such.
The co-op missions are just one of the ways that you'll be able to add to it.
Thanks! That's good to know! This way I can play some multiplayer, but still focus on the single-player storyline.
I'm really hoping EA doesn't force you to use Origin to play the online multiplayer, because if they do I'll never touch it. Origin shall never be installed on my PC.
