Gallery: Final Fantasy XIII-2

Say what you will about the storylines or gameplay in Final Fantasy games, if there's one thing these titles know how to do and that's bring the pretty. Square Enix released a batch of screenshots today for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2 that illustrate the Augusta Tower location and show some Crystarium and Historia Crux menus. What amuses me to no end is that in addition to being able to infuse creatures with powers and abilities, you can also play dress up with them to enhance their skills! Come on you can't tell me that Narasimha doesn't look ready for a night on the town with that bow tie!

Hell'z yeah. I for one am rather glad that they're channeling some of X-2's immense fabness without being so blatant about it. Playing dress-up with monsters is probably the most awesomely meta thing we will ever see in main-series FF.
I will find an Adamantoise, and I will put a preety pink dress on it. FOR GREAT JUSTICE.
Ugh!
If all the items in the dress-up feature are joke items (and they seem like it from the list in that screenshot), then I'm not going to touch that part of the game.
I don't want my monsters running around with big bows on them. It looks ridiculous enough when people subject their RL animals to that. It's completely out of place on a big monster.
I wonder if this game will outdo it's predecessor in having the main crux of the plot in the datalogs [again]...
Can't wait to play it!
Final Fantasy XIII is still a technicolo headache. If it's being written by the same infantile half-wit Motomu Toriyama (AND IT IS) then Final Fantasy's legacy of good stories is dead.

There is a Red Mage's Chapeau. Your argument is now invalid.
Best game ever.
Visually the Final Fantasy series has never failed to deliver. Whether it's medieval, steampunk, or pure scifi. It's the story that's really lacking a lot of the times though. The insanely convoluted storylines that honestly plague mainstream japanese stories is really tiresome.
