Gotham City Imposters Gets A Release Date and Beta
If you drew a venn diagram with one circle being Batman fans, and the other circle being fans of over the top first person shooters, then Gotham City Imposters would be the hilarious/deadly overlap. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment finally slapped down a release date on the download only shooter - January 10th, 2012. Of course, the game will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PC platforms.
But that's not all. Anyone interested in fighting it out on the mean streets of Gotham a bit early can sign up for the open beta, which will start sometime in December, at their website. Until then, tide yourself over with a brand new screenshot.
Up to twelve players will be able to battle it out on the streets of a cartoony Gotham City, modeling their characters after either Batman or his nemesis, The Joker. Homemade costume options and tons of traditional Batman weapons (and some the impostors have thought up themselves) round out the action. Good to see Warner Bros. and DC give The Bats some much needed goofy time after all his serious business. The guy's gotta relax, right?
