Nintendo And Penny Arcade Team Up For A Skyward Sword Comic Series

The release of the next home-console Zelda title is one of the gaming world's longest-running cyclical events, one which has achieved near religious significance for many (also, that this will be the third consecutive Zelda post in the past 12 hours by GayGamer staff is not insignificant), which is readily apparent when reading the post from which the quote below originates. To celebrate Skyward Sword's release the lucky so-and-sos at Penny Arcade have been hard at work creating a five-part Skyward Sword comic, the first page of which you can find here.
Apparently, Nintendo approached the Penny Arcade crew two months ago about doing work for them. They wondered how they might fit it into their schedules until they were told that it was a Zelda project, at which point the Penny Arcade people felt they had to do it:
We've done a lot of these PA presents projects over the years. I'm very proud of all of them but this is special. This is Zelda. Even as I'm typing this I'm getting a little emotional.Wow.
This is Zelda.
It's nice to see Nintendo teaming up with more outside talent to create extra content for fans.

That is the absolute coolest gig EVER for Gabe! The comic is gonna be badass, no doubt.
I love that Nintendo is using an outside artist to reinterpret such an icon! Gives me a little more hope that they'll hire me for something when the next Paper Mario comes out!
