Resident Evil: Revelations To Feature Online Co-op, Lengthy Solo Mission

At a Nintendo retailer briefing last week, Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata reported that the upcoming 3DS RE title Revelations is not going to be some quickie portable game even though it's coming out for a handheld system; rather, it's intended to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the series' console entries. Not only is it being designed to push the technical limits of the 3DS (check out our coverage of the E3 2011 trailer here and the TGS 2011 extended trailer here), but it will also feature a 10-hour plus solo mission and online co-op multiplayer. Titled Raid Mode, the co-op option will be unlockable after completing the solo game, and will feature favourite Resident Evil characters not playable otherwise in the game.

Resident Evil: Revelations slated for release in Japan on January 26, Europe on January 27, and in North America on February 7, and is designed to bring the old school, creeping-dread survival horror back into the series.

I don't have a 3DS but this game may make me purchase one. Classic RE creepiness plus Chris Redfield's biceps in 3D sounds like a good deal.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
