Some wish for wealth; some for power and prestige. Still others wish to hear those three special words from the object of their affection. Me? I wish for only one thing: to finally reaching into the beard of Markus "Notch" Persson and give a firm squeeze to those pinchable, Swedish cheeks.
Not content with the official release of Minecraft, the upcoming Scrolls, and Minecraft's lesser-known sibling, Minicraft, Notch is preparing for a fervent frolic through the flowering, 8-bit fields of fancy once again. Indeed, as a recent tweet indicated, he is currently working on Minicraft 2 (not to be confused with Minecraft) "for no good reason." The original was part of the Ludum Dare 22 competition - which itself scored a rather impressive 891 entries - challenging programmers to create a game in a mere 48 hours. The end result was a top-down affair that, true to what one might expect, harkened back to the 8-bit games of yore.
According to Shacknews, Notch describes Minicraft 2 as "action roguelike with crafting and modifiable terrain." Little else is known - the aforementioned tweet was posted yesterday - but for those that have yet to play Minicraft, be sure to check it out at this link!
