Rush In 2012 With 2112!

Harmonix is ringing in the new year with the special release of the opening 20-minute suite to Rush's 1976 concept album 2112 to the Rock Band Music Store. (It's fine, because honestly, who really wants to wait another hundred years for it to be exactly appropriate?) It will be available in three separate packages, one that combines "Overture" and "The Temple of Syrinx," another that includes "Discovery" and "Presentation" and a third that features "Oracle: The Dream," "Soliliquy," and "Grand Finale."

Xbox 360 owners are in luck because they will see the release over Xbox LIVE on December 31. But PlayStation 3 and Wii owners will have to wait until January 3. But Wii owners also get screwed in another way. Only 360 and PS3 owners will be able to download the "Rush '2112' Pack" for $5.49 that will include all three of the tracks (available separately for the usual price of $2 each), as well as one 20-minute marathon medley of all seven parts of the suite! Also, Each of the three sections include the optional $.99 Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions, but if you purchase the song pack, you will receive a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade for the medley for free!

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
