The Artistry Of Mass Effect

Everyone knows that Dark Horse is publishing comic books based in the Mass Effect universe (heck, I published a preview of one of them a little while back!), but now they're preparing to release a glorious hardcover book exploring the development of the entire series! I've had the opportunity to peruse a preview copy of The Art of the Mass Effect Universe, and it's exactly what you're looking for.
The book features never-before seen concept art and commentary by BioWare on the characters, locations, vehicles, weapons and more from all three games in the series. There are some interesting tidbits of information that explain how certain character were designed, and it's always fascinating to see exactly how the developers change and adapt each one for the game. Sometimes it's a stylistic choice, other times it's simply to make them easier to animate in the game.
I will admit that I didn't actually look too closely at the section on Mass Effect 3. I started reading, but after enjoying the delicious beefiness of Alliance soldier James Vega (and hoping he's a romance option for my FemShep), I realized I didn't want any more spoilers. And there are spoilers aplenty!
The Art of Mass Effect Universe will be out on February 8 in comic shops, and February 21 in bookstores for $39.99. And if you're a fan of the series, you're definitely going to want to check it out! (Although since Mass Effect 3 doesn't hit stores until March, you also might want to stop reading when you reach the ME3 section!)

I will be most disappointed if my male Shepard can't partake in some James Vega lovin'.
I will definitely have to get this sometime.
Oh, do want. I LOVE the look of the ME universe, it's one of the best, most lush sci-fi universes I've seen in years.
As for ME3, my male Shepard best be able to get some bromance on with Garrus, or I'll be disappoint.
OMG, love for Jacob Taylor?! C'mon, cover boy!
