Video: Brand New Pokemon Game Introduces...Historical Warlords?
People that don't play Pokemon games like to complain that the same game has been recycled for years and that things never change. How about mixing together Pokemon with the management and battle simulation series Nobunaga's Ambition? Is that enough of a change?
According to vaious sources, including Famitsu and a website dedicated to the new title, the next in the monster hunting series will combine with the long running "historical simulator," Nobunaga's Ambition, a series very similar to SimCity in player integration and resource micromanagement.
The game appears to be akin to the Pokemon Explorers series, with an isometric battlefield and individual actions taken by the monsters, perhaps in place of their samurai masters. That's right, these Pokemon are units of war. The addition of warring Daimyo (the Japanese warlords in control during the 16th century) and possibly resource management could give the adorable series the shot of maturity fans have demanded for years.
Other than the unusual crossover premise and the trailer, most details remain hidden for this new title. Expect information to leak out slowly over the next few months and primarily through CoroCoro Magazine scans like any good Pokeymans game.

Of course, now I'm like "I should have made an Onimusha joke about how when he's not consorting with demons to take over the world, Nobunaga likes playing with his Pikachu."
oh well, missed opportunity.
The humans design are EXACLY like in Samurai Warriors 2
After letting the shock wear down, it seems that the game could introduce the world of Nobunaga's Ambition to westerners via Pokemon [like Marth and Roy in SSB Melee did for Fire Emblem].
Shame it's for the DS and not the 3DS though!
Pokemon Musou. Make it happen.
what the fuck
Like a great deal of Japanese hentai, this game features some odd coupling....
I don't think the "general public" had this sort of thing when they asked for a change in the standard series.
My issue with such unrelated crossovers is that I just can't get into it. Ever. Can't make the it acceptable and/or believable in my head, which then just renders the game not fun for me.
The more I've thought about this, the more it seems like a Fire Emblem/Final Fantasy Tactics game, but with super adorable monsters instead of human soldiers. And what could ever go wrong with that?
This is like mixing ice cream with crude oil.
