Xenoblade Sharpens Up For North American Release

XenobladeChr.jpg

You know, sometimes I think twice about posting something because I figure everyone already knows about it. So why bother? But with the way everyone I know talks about this game like it's the second coming, I thought better safe than sorry. Because sometimes when I post an article about something I thought everybody was hip to, there's usually a couple people who aren't and are grateful for the info.

So anyway, it turns out that Nintendo is going to bring the critically lauded and much-desired Xenoblade Chronicles to North American Wiis. In this RPG, you'll play Shulk, armed with the Monado blade, the only weapon that can defeat the Mechon (and show you the future — bonus!) There's the usual customization of weapons and armor, but I'm most intrigued by the open world you can explore to seek out sidequests. I love a good distraction!

Xenoblade Chronicles has already been released in Japan and Europe, and has gotten some amazing reviews. But if you want to find out what the fuss is about, you'll have to get yours at GameStop, because they've got the retail exclusive. You can also get it at www.gamestop.com and www.nintendo.com, so perhaps the Nintendo World Store in NYC will also stock copies. It's going to run $49.99 either way, but I always prefer a brick and mortar store to avoid shipping costs. Since the game isn't due to hit stores until the spring, we've got a bit of a wait, but as more info passes our way, I'll be sure to share it with you!

And because you all are so awesome, I'm gonna throw the US trailer after the jump!

It's a shame this is on a console I'm likely never going to own.

At least I'll be able to order direct from Nintendo.

That would be me.

And I am certainly grateful! I almost asked my Euro friends to snag me a copy.

Such a fantastic game! I'd buy it just to gift it out!

I got this when it came out here (in australia) and its a great game :) Lots of nice little features (like save anywhere, map travel). Had to stop playing for a while due to studies but now that they're over, I can get back into it :)
It also has amusing gear, like the swimmers gear, where its basically "nothing" and your character will appear in their underwear hehe

I'm happy for you guys [even though I figured it was always gonna come to Early 2012].

An awesome game. And definitely the most fun [and refreshing] RPG I've played this gen [with Lost Odyssey right behind it]. :)

I've been playing the EU version and I have to say that it's the best JRPG I've played in years. It's simply fantastic. HUGE, open, beautiful world with interesting characters, a solid story line, and an engaging, yet easy to grasp battle system. It does all of this while doing away with so many of the general RPG annoyances like going back to a character that gave you a quest just to turn it in, having to run huge distances just to get from point A to point B, saving only at save points, etc. For anyone who likes the genre, you really should pick this game up.

I can't wait for this game to come out. I will definitely be pre-ordering it.

Now, I only hope NoA decides to provide us with "The Last Story"...
