Start Your Journey Early

Last week, the interwebs were abuzz with praise for thatgamecompany's latest release, Journey. However, when I booted up my PS3 and went into the store, I was dismayed to find out that the game doesn't actually release until March 13!

However, it turns out that if you're a PS Plus member, you can download the critically-acclaimed adventure game starting now. And as a bonus, you'll get an exclusive PS3 dynamic theme featuring concept art from the game.

If you're like me, though, you'll have to wait until next week to see what everyone's fussing over. But if you take advantage of Sony's special pre-order program, you can pay for Journey now and the download it on March 13 and get the bonus theme for yourself. I honestly don't know exactly what the theme looks like, but I might just pre-order it anyway to get it. I mean, I'm going to buy the game anyway, so why not get something for free in the bargain?

The game is simply amazing, with the ability to really (and surprisingly) connect with you on an emotional level. I've been playing it for about a week (review code, embargo has lifted), and I can easily say that I think this game's emotional impact is the highest of almost any other game I have played.

It's a completely different pace than your Mass Effects, your SWTORs, your Resident Evils, and your Animal Crossings. Yes, it's short, but it's got decent replay value.

As I mentioned to you on Twitter, it's part platformer, part adventure, and part parable. It tells an engrossing story without saying a word, and with some incredibly beautiful music and art design.

What a beaufiful game on so many levels, jenova chen is a genius, from the art, story, and online component, its just beyond words, you must really give it a go, it can be completed in 2 hours, but i also agree that there is definate replay value there as well, i liked flow, loved flower and journey is on my top favorite games of all time, if a small team can make this masterpiece i look at the major developers and shake my head.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
