The Devil May Cry Is In The Details

Capcom released some new information about the upcoming DMC Devil May Cry (still nothing about what's up with the redundant title), but honestly, what more do you need to know besides the fact that the new Dante is younger and hotter?
Okay, fine. He's not human, but he's also not like the demons that tortured him throughout his life. Seems he grew up in a variety of orphanages and institutions, but they were mostly operated by demons. So that's gotta suck. This is why he hates demons and wants to kill them, I suppose.
He has two weapons: the Rebellion sword and his guns, Ebony and Ivory. The game's designers tried to make them look both modern and ancient, and used the same elements on the sword's hilt and the guns' grips to link them together. However, the origins of the weapons are a mystery. The sword was given to Dante by his father to protect him from the demon hunters, but the guns? Who knows?
You can take a look at Dante and his weapons in the artwork and the screenshots below! DMC Devil May Cry is due out in 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I know it's controversial but I love the new look for Dante.
Is this supposed to be the same character as from the previous games?
Uggh, I understand what they were trying to do, really, but I still just cannot get on board with this new Dante. I loved the DMC 3 and 4 looks, I was hoping they'd continue in that vein (this coming from someone who prefers brunettes :/).
It still looks like a good game all-around, though, curious to see how it turns out.
"Hotter"? This skinny and ugly boy with bony cheeks? Really?
I'd much rather the old Dante. Well, as we say here in Brazil, "there're tastes for everything"... :D
Some videos I've seen with the gameplay look nice though.
@Keith:
It's a alternate universe version of him.

I prefer his appearance to that of the "normal" Dante.
I don't much care for the series.
The only one I own is Devil May Cry 3, and I dislike it.
This looks fantastic though, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it.
I consider myself a fan of Ninja Theory, yet have never played more than a demo of any of their games.
I can't back you on "hotter".

Seems like a lot of people prefered the old Dante as well. XD
I'm pretty sure that Dante made the guns himself, possibly alongside his brother since the next to last boss fight in DMC3 ends with them both gripping a gun and saying "Jackpot." Kind of implied that it was something they did together at some point.
