Video: Silent Hill HD Collection
Konami just released this little teaser trailer for the upcoming Silent Hill HD Collection, which upgrades Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 (arguably the two best in the series) to the HD generation. As you'll see in the trailer, it doesn't exactly look like a current-gen title, but it does look way better than if you popped the original discs into your PS2!
In addition, the press release claims that the re-recorded soundtrack "has all dialogue reuniting the original vocal artists." So whether that eliminates the controversy over the original actors, I don't know for sure. That's what it sounds like, but it might just be PR speak. Although I have also read that there will be an option to listen to the original soundtrack if you're a purist. Also, the version of Silent Hill 2 features the exclusive stages from the Director's Cut supplemental release.
Silent Hill HD Collection is due out on March 29 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And maybe if I didn't already have a bajillion games that I'm in the middle of, I'd be more tempted to pick it up! These are really good games. If you haven't played them, you owe it to yourself to play some of the best survival horror you ever will!
