This week's it's all about the Mass Effect 3. The game has taken over what little free time I have left in my life. And that's not a whole lot, this week, what with all the theater I saw! Plus, that dang day job keeps cutting into my gaming time! So if you want to hear all about Mass Effect 3, click play. Or if you want to hear about this awesome theatrical experience I had, click play. If you'd rather hear me talk about the NHL, well... you're in the wrong place!

I just want you to beat it so I can know what you think of it, the response to the ending on the Internet has me shocked, this game is turning out to be as controversial to its fans as the recent final fantasy 13 and 13-2, I am dying to know what you are gonna think!!!! the suspense ;) ! I liked mass effect 2, never played 1 (ps3) never got into it as much as you, But really can't wait for your podcast after you finish, I hope it doesn't make you a sad panda like final fantasy 13 did for me :(

My thoughts on the ending, without spoilers but you might not want to read it if you haven't finished it yet:

It made me slightly depressed I think. And I don't feel any nudge to play the game again at all, nor any of the earlier parts. Just bonded with these excellent characters and spend a lot of time trying to get the ''perfect save'', which feels so wasted now. And I think they also killed the franchise this way.

I do have hopes the massive outcry -Which it is, if you look at the sheer amount of people on the forums who react that way, which of course is not the entire player base but the majority of gamers never visits the forums unless they need technical help- make BioWare take action and show they are not EA minions.

I've only experienced the one ending so far, and thought it was great. It didn't come to me as a big surprise, though--I began to suspect the direction things were taking around the middle of ME3. ME has always been about making impactful choices, sometimes difficult ones, choices that affect the entire galaxy. And, to me, the ending I experienced is far from commercial (clearly as it has been so controversial) and has much more artistic integrity than a typical happy ending, and far more impact. What would you pay to save the galaxy? Would you sacrifice youself? Sacrifice your friends? If there are no real consequences to the choices you make, what's the point of having those choices? Just my $0.02. Plus, DEFINITELY playing through again with my alts to finally get some Kaidan love, and maybe this time I won't pick the Geth...maybe.

ME3 makes me sad ...

I think the endings were some of the worst pieces of pseudo-artistic hubris I've ever experienced in a video game, and as an artist myself, I find it borderline insulting to pretend that "art" can't be/shouldn't be/isn't influenced by things other than the artist (e.g., the artists' world and society, fans ... as a theater director, let me tell you were *are* concerned about the audience ... if we aren't, we're failing one of our primary responsibilities).

That said, for those that have played it, while I was *thrilled* to have the chance to romance my crush Kaidan with my ManShep, does anyone else wish there were at least one or two more moments with him? I felt short-changed after my Shep confessed he cared ... I hoped for more interaction.
