Activision Plans To Make James Bond 007 A Legend

I love James Bond, especially when played by the delicious Daniel Craig (seriously, as hyped up as the bathing suit scene in Casino Royale was, it was the scene when he first put on his tuxedo that had me melting in my seat!). But the videogame adaptations have been hit or miss. Mostly miss. But Activision is having another go at it by celebrating the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise with 007 Legends.
"To honor 50 years of the world's top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet," said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing, Inc. "Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game."
In addition to the overarching story that will tie together six different Bond movies naturally concluding with this year's Skyfall the Mi6 Ops Missions from GoldenEye: Reloaded will be returning to offer extra missions with a variety of gameplay from action to stealth. That's in addition to online and local multiplayer. Also, you'll be able to play as the villains for the first time, seeing the story from their perspective. Will there be a Blofeld cat-stroking mini-game? Or a Goldfinger aim-the-laser-at-Bond's-crotch one?
Seriously, though, they haven't announced exactly what characters or movies are going to be included in 007 Legends, but there will likely be frequent updates before the game launches this fall for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And until that time, I will remain cautiously optimistic... (and drool over this picture!)

never noticed how bad a case of duckface he has before. he should really get that looked at.
Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond. Don't get me wrong, I love Connery, and Brosnan would be great if he'd played the role in more than one good movie (that being Tomorrow Never Dies), and I'll always have a soft spot for my first Bond, Roger Moore, but Craig just nails the role perfectly. He also matches the description of the character in the actual books better (he's SUPPOSED to be blonde, not dark haired). Plus, yes, he's one of the hottest men on the planet.
As for this game, I'll file it under "cautiously optimistic" given the recent track record of Bond games.
