A New Blogger Appears! The Eccentric Tomboy Joins Gaygamer Castle
Hi, my name is Austen, and I'm known as the Eccentric Tomboy: a lifelong gamer and a kickass trans woman. 
My room in the GayGamer castle is a mishmash of retro, rainbows, and plenty of seating. Impossible 8-bit platformers butt up against board games, Team Fortress 2, League of Legends, RPG books, and wacky indie games. As long as there are friends and everybody's having fun, the game is great.
See, my transition has given me an interesting perspective on gender in gaming culture; growing up a gamer boy to later become a gamer girl. The rules change, and in that delta hide some fascinating observations about gaming culture as a whole. Just remember: if you see a cute girl acting like she has no idea how to play Street Fighter and giggles when you start losing, she's probably trolling you (true story).
When I'm not playing games, I'm writing sci-fi and fantasy novels.
