If you were eagerly awaiting the release of BioShock Infinite, you're going to have to keep awaiting just a bit longer. Okay, more than just a bit, as it turns out. Today, 2K Games announced that they're pushing the game's release date into 2013. On the plus side, instead of being vague about it, they have declared February 26, 2013 as the new worldwide release date.
"When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing," explained Ken Levine, Creative Director of Irrational Games. "Since then, we've uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we ve decided to move the game's release to February."
As much as I might want to play a particular game, I'm all for waiting until it's the best it can be. So if they know a way to make BioShock Infinite spectacular instead of just really good, I'll wait until next February. Also, that's right in the post-holiday lull where there aren't usually any big AAA titles coming out, but you've finished the games you got as gifts, to maybe it'll work out for 2K in the end!
