Dark Horse Reveals New Dragon Age Mini

I've been all over Dark Horse's Mass Effect comic tie-ins because I love that series. But I haven't really sampled any of their Dragon Age books. That may all change on August 22 when the first issue of Dragon Age: Those Who Speak is released. This three issue comic book mini-series is written by Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider and senior writer for Star Wars: The Old Republic Alexander Freed. But the real reason I'm intrigued by the mini-series is because it stars the handsome (but unfortunately unromanceable by guys) Alistair.
The plot involves King Alistair traveling to an empire of evil mages to uncover the fave of his lost father. His companions will be the pirate captain Isabela and underworld merchant Varric. I appreciate that David Gaider is at least behind the story, but I'm more interested in who the art team is going to be. Because I had a huge crush on Alistair, so I'm less interested in the plot than how pretty he's going to look. Yes, I'm that shallow!

I'm keeping tabs on DA:O to go dirt cheap on Steam seeing as how only the PC version allows a gay romance mod.
Something is wrong with the game industry for me to have to buy a game on a different system than preferred and mod it at that just for some equal representation.
@Gamescook
DA:O does have gay romance. You can romance Zevran as a male warden and Leliana as a female. If you want to romance Alistair or Morrigan you have to have a mod.
Its sequel Dragon Age II has 4 Romances available for all character genders.
Bioware is one of the best game companies out there when it comes to non-hetero romances. Its not always equal, but just about all of their games have some form or another.
@My_Decemberling
I'm well aware of Bioware being on e of the extremely few game companies willing to acknowledge the gay characters exist in their games' worlds, I'm just nitpicking at the lack of options in DA:O and how Mass Effect had the rule of "hot faux-lesbians only" up until their third installment.
I loved Alistair in the first game, too. I'll admit to secretly hoping I could romance him, then being slightly crushed when I found out I couldn't. It lasted for about three seconds until I found the gay mod - PC gaming for the win!
I think Bioware made a bit of a mistake in DA2, in that they feminised all of the men a little - I suppose to make the bisexual options seem more believable. Still, though, I love that Bioware does this. In particular, Steve Cortez in ME3; he was gay, and self-identified as such, even without any prompting from the user. I wouldn't ever dream of throwing my toys out of the pram because I didn't fancy anyone from DA2 - our content is finally being included, and I'm so happy it is.
Though, if I had a wishlist - James Vega romance DLC...?
I think we may all be that shallow. ;-)
I haven't read any of the books either (though I've wanted to) but I've been following the comics too. Theybwere a bit hit and miss with me but this one got me very excited when I heard about it. I can't wait to read it. Alastair is definitely my favorite character from the games.
I believe BioWare's stance on LGB characters in their games has been evolving. In fact you can see that progression from DA:O to DA2 to ME3. They've come a long way and I'm confident that we'll be satisfied with DA3. I mean, we got a Kaiden romance option right? That was a huge win wasn't it?
Then again, the DA and ME teams are completely different...
Totally wanted to "lick a lamp post in winter" as Alistair suggested.
