Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Coming To Vita, Gets Release Date
With Metal Gear Solid 3 poking up its 3-dimensional head on Nintendo's handheld, it's difficult for Vita owners not to feel left out. Having sailed upon the Good Ship Sony for many a moon, it seems only logical that Snake - whether in Solid, Liquid, or Naked form - would make an appearance on Sony's brand new whiz-bang.
Thankfully, for you on-the-go types, Konami has indeed announced that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be making its way onto the Vita. Come June 12th, "painfully extensive dialogue" enthusiasts haters gon' hate can enjoy Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater, rendered in sparking, HD prettiness. The game will also feature touch controls, something that I found particularly appealing on the 3DS. One glaring omission is Peace Walker, which is both a shame, and rather perplexing, given its inclusion in the previous HD collection. Aside from being a highly worthwhile game, one wonders why Peace Walker, a noteworthy part of the PSP library, won't be making an appearance.
So for those who have yet to see the trailer, click the above video for a brief introduction, and feast your eyes on the Snake-ness that is to come for Vita!

Will it be transsexual, I mean, Vita/PS3 compatible?
It's rather odd that Peace Walker, the game that originated on a Sony handheld, isn't being included in this collection. Still, having MGS3 on the go is the most compelling reason I've seen yet for getting a Vita. Hopefully the motion controls are strictly optional, but given the Vita's lack of an L2 or R2 trigger, they may have had to use the touchpad on the back to compensate.
And yes, Feri, from what I understand your gamesaves can travel back and forth between the Vita version and the PS3 version.
My guess would be why give you a game for free when they can have you purchase it via PSN as a digital download? Sad but probably the truth.
