For those that missed the previous Guild Wars 2 beta weekend, the digital frolic shall begin anew, running from Friday, June 8th through Sunday, June 10th. How does one guarantee safe passage aboard the Good Ship GW2, one might ask? Naturally, with the nominal fare - in this case, a pre-purchase of the game. The Digital, Deluxe, and Collectors Editions will cost $59.99, $79.99, and $149.99 respectively; details of each can be found at the Guild Wars 2 site.
Despite fears that players' characters would be cast into the swirling, binary vortex - their sould shrieking one last ghastly shriek as they slip into the infinite void - lead designer Chris Whiteside offered some encouraging words:
Your existing beta characters have not been deleted, and you will be able to continue right where you left off! This means that enterprising players with characters level 35 or higher will be able to test their mettle against the explorable version of the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon!
Having spent precious little time with the original Guild Wars, I defer to you, noble warrior of the binary realm. Are you looking forward to the latest installment in the Guild Wars series, and your mouth to the ears of a first-rate ignoramus, what is it about the series that, to you, sets it apart from its MMO counterparts?
