Final Fantasy Versus XIII Cancellation a Rumor, and Nothing More

A few days ago Kotaku published a rumor from an undisclosed inside source at Square Enix that Final Fantasy Versus XIII, after six long years in development, was being quietly cancelled and its resources allocated to other projects.
The internet, myself included, responded as one would expect it to.
Thankfully the vapor-rumor has been put to bed by the head of Square Enix himself: Yoichi Wada. Mr. Wada took to twitter earlier today and released the following statement:
ヴェルサスがキャンセルされたってデマ流してるやつがいるらしい。フフ..たった今ヴェルサス定例会議が終わったとこ。今日プレゼンされた街なんぞ見たら腰抜かすでぇ~w
Translated into English, the tweet reads something along the lines of: Someone made up a rumor about Versus being cancelled. Fufu Haha. Just got out of the regular Versus meeting right now. The presentation of the city was today.
So there you have it, straight from the chocobo's mouth. We can all breathe a collective kweh of relief.
Now if only Square Enix would show us something, anything, of the game. Even the tiniest bit of information would be nice. After all, the serious lack of information about Versus XIII is what made the cancellation rumors at all believable in the first place.
Time to, yet again, play the waiting game.

Yay! The only FF I have been looking forward too since they just decided to milk FF13 and pissed away money with FF14. I was so disappointed when the rumor came around because I have lost a lot of faith in SE already :(
