Theatrhythm DLC Scheduled!

With all the various difficulty levels and chaos shrine modes, there's certainly enough in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy to keep you busy, but if you're tired of the 70+ tracks included in the 3DS game — or if perhaps one of your favorites didn't make the initial cut — you might be interested in this list of DLC that will soon be available, and the list of songs that became available starting today! Tracks are $.99 each, and available through the in-game store.

July 12
"Somnus" from Final Fantasy Versus XIII
"Desperate Struggle" from Final Fantasy XIII
"Sarutabaruta" from Final Fantasy XI
"Battle" from Final Fantasy VI

July 19
"Fight On!" from Final Fantasy VII
"Etro's Champion" from Final Fantasy XIII-2
"Battle Theme" from Final Fantasy XI
"Battle 1" from Final Fantasy III

July 26
"A Contest of Aeons" from Final Fantasy X
"The Archylte Steppe" from Final Fantasy XIII
"The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah" from Final Fantasy XI
"Crystal Cave" from Final Fantasy III

That looks like a good mix of old and new tunes from the series, and a weekly schedule is mighty impressive. Especially with four songs being released at a time. Still no love for the much-maligned-but-personal-favorite-of-mine Final Fantasy X-2, though! Well, there's still plenty of time...

Can't they make additional character DLC?
I want to have Zell from FF8 in my team.

Also, been meaning to ask Wootini. Don't you have Facebook?
I constantly see you talking about things I'm interested in on the site's Twitter feed, but I'm just not prepared yet to sell my soul and get a Twitter account. :p

Who ISN'T on Facebook nowadays? ;-)

I only got a Twitter account because of this site so we could Tweet about what we were seeing at E3 immediately instead of waiting to write articles about it. But now I kind of enjoy it because it's a place to post all the random thoughts that you don't want to clutter up Facebook with.

That said, you could always do what I did before I signed up for Twitter, and that's just bookmark the Twitter pages of the people you want to read. Of course, you could always just sign up for Twitter and follow people to see what they're saying and never tweet yourself... I know people do that.

FF X-2's "Real Emotion" would make a perfect Theatrhythm track!

Final Fantasy X-2 had a god-awful story ranking right down there with the likes of XIII and XIII-2. Must be do to all three being penned by Motomu Toriyama, that guy frankly can't write himself out of a paper bag. If SE feels he -must- write, I wish they would stop assigning him to key projects that are effectively the face of their Japanese studio.

I love love love the final dungeon's music in XIII though. It's about the only thing I can divorce from the juvenile script and noisy, 100% tasteless art direction.

I checked with a PR contact at Square Enix, and unfortunately, he said there are no plans to have additional characters made available as DLC. Of course, he didn't say "we won't be making character DLC" he said there were "no plans." So maybe plans might change...
