Alright, I swear, after this, I will stop writing about the PS3 RPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch... at least until the game comes out. But Namco Bandai announced today that they are extending their Ninostarter past tomorrow so that it can cover the entirety of PAX weekend. The new deadline is September 3. This will be your last opportunity for North American fans to reserve a copy of the Wizard's Edition.
They're also sweetening the pot by putting in a soundtrack sampler CD featuring a couple of complete orchestral tracks from the game by amazing composer Joe Hisaishi. Of course, I'd prefer a full soundtrack, but I guess you take what you get.
As I mentioned before, the Ninostarter is their version of a Kickstarter, where as they reach goals of numbers of preorders, they add stuff to the Wizard's Edition. They're nearly to the second goal, which would add a Golden Ni no Kuni Wizard's Coin to the set. The first goal was reached a while back, and they've finally revealed exactly what that is: Five Ni no Kuni prints by Studio Ghibli's Yoshiyuki Momose, who supervised the game's event scenes. The art prints measure 6" x 9" and depict key moments of Oliver's adventure in the game.
Of course, I bet if they'd explained exactly what the rewards were going to be for each goal met, Namco Bandai would've gotten a whole lot more pre-orders. But it's still a nice package, and mine is already reserved! Now just comes the hard part... waiting until January 22!
