Ninostarter Extended

NiNoKuni_Postcard_webgraphic.jpg

Alright, I swear, after this, I will stop writing about the PS3 RPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch... at least until the game comes out. But Namco Bandai announced today that they are extending their Ninostarter past tomorrow so that it can cover the entirety of PAX weekend. The new deadline is September 3. This will be your last opportunity for North American fans to reserve a copy of the Wizard's Edition.

They're also sweetening the pot by putting in a soundtrack sampler CD featuring a couple of complete orchestral tracks from the game by amazing composer Joe Hisaishi. Of course, I'd prefer a full soundtrack, but I guess you take what you get.

As I mentioned before, the Ninostarter is their version of a Kickstarter, where as they reach goals of numbers of preorders, they add stuff to the Wizard's Edition. They're nearly to the second goal, which would add a Golden Ni no Kuni Wizard's Coin to the set. The first goal was reached a while back, and they've finally revealed exactly what that is: Five Ni no Kuni prints by Studio Ghibli's Yoshiyuki Momose, who supervised the game's event scenes. The art prints measure 6" x 9" and depict key moments of Oliver's adventure in the game.

Of course, I bet if they'd explained exactly what the rewards were going to be for each goal met, Namco Bandai would've gotten a whole lot more pre-orders. But it's still a nice package, and mine is already reserved! Now just comes the hard part... waiting until January 22!

did club narco shop charge you for your wizards edition when you placed your preorder? So as long as I preorder it I am enrolled in the nino starter? The website is horrible sorry for the questions just trying to make a last minute decision. Thanks in advance.

I actually don't know if Namco Bandai charged my credit card already for the pre-order. I haven't gotten my statement yet. But I feel like there was something I read during my ordering of it that led me to believe they would charge me now, not in January when they ship it. But realistically, they SHOULD only charge you when it comes in and ships. Hopefully that's the case.

But yes, as long as you pre-order the Wizard's Edition before the time limit, which is September 3, you will be enrolled in the Ninostarter, which gets you the art prints and the soundtrack... and maybe the coin, if enough people reserve it before the weekend's out!

Thanks, after talking it over with my hubby i am ok to order it even if they do charge. I cant believe we have had to wait this long for a jrpg like this on ps3. Tales of grace f doesnt count, that was a remake of a wii game, and lets not talk about 13 and 13-2 ok, lets just not go there :D.

Caved and jumped in for one copy, hopefully enough people do by the end of day so that we can all get some sweet coins!
