New God Of War Ascension Trailer Gets Furious
There are many joys of being a gamer. Some of us find ourselves rapt in an engaging story; others, the warm blanket of escapism that comes with a leisurely night of hot, finger-on-button action. Then, there is the simple, passing pleasure of being hate-f*cked into the furthest reaches of Hades by women with grotesque appendages.
Such is the prevue of the God of War series. Indeed, the latest Ascension trailer introduces gamers to the "Furies" (not to be confused with Furries), damsels of, shall we say, less than benevolent intentions. From a great battle that pre-dated both the Titans and the Gods, the Furies were born "from this rage, this madness of war [...] bound to no one, and seeking "retribution only to those they deemed guilty," according to the video.
Thwarting our Spartan hero in his never-ending quest to stick it to the man/Gods, the brief PAX trailer showcases said Furies in action: flaunting their impossible limbs, striking menacing poses, and everyone's favorite: impalement via said impossible limbs. There's still quite a ways to go before the game's release - March 2013, to be exact - but in the meantime, enjoy the latest video morsel for God of War: Ascension!

Iiiiinteresting angle for the series. Mythically, the Furies were created from the blood that was spilled when Uranus was castrated by his son Cronus. Their duty was to punish any mortal who slew his or her family members... which happened to a certain Spartan we all know.
