I'm still waiting until I can get my hands on it this weekend at New York Comic Con, but if you're already decided on Tomb Raider, Square Enix has announced some pre-order programs for North America. There are three rounds of content that will be available, the first being retailer-specific goodies.
Reserving at GameStop will get you an exclusive in-game Challenge Tomb. An Amazon pre-order will get you "The Final Hours Edition" of Tomb Raider that includes a 32-page art book created by art director Brian Horton featuring the art of the game, a "Hunter Skin" and The Final Hours Of Tomb Raider, the "Director's Cut" Kindle Fire Edition. This is an interactive app hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley that documents how Crystal Dynamics reinvented Lara Croft and Tomb Raider from the ground up. And pre-ordering at Best Buy will get you a 48-page hardcover comic by writer Rhianna Pratchett and artist Brian Horton that acts as a prequel, and an "Aviatrix Skin."
The other pre-order bonuses that will be available no matter where you reserve your copy will be announced in the months leading up to Tomb Raider's March 15, 2013 launch. There's also going to be a Collector's Edition, and as soon as Square Enix reveals anything about it, I'll let you know!
