"The Greatest Video Game Music 2" Now Available

Yesterday: A night filled with pressing the "refresh" button on my browser (after the 30th or so time, it is considered a genuine tic) could only mean one thing: election day. Votes were cast, nails were bitten, and yours truly made a rare departure from his cocoon of nihilism to march down to the polling station, help decide the course of American leadership, and giddily vote "no" on Minnesota's proposed anti-gay marriage amendment. Now that the dust has settled - said amendment being pushed back into the fanged, hate-eaten sn*tch from whence it was birthed - the mind seeks a calm that can come only from the gentle fluttering of strings, the hypnotic rhythms of percussion, and of course, an homage to the world of video games. Such was the charm of "The Greatest Video Game Music," a compilation of some of gaming's signature melodies, as performed by the London Philharmonic. Said sonic loveliness has returned, in the form of the aptly named, "The Greatest Video Game Music 2." With selections from Chrono Trigger, Kingdom Hearts, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, among others (full track listing after the jump), the album once again features the London Philharmonic - undoubtedly maintaining a stiff upper lip for the duration of the album, and bringing an air of class that only our Redcoat ex-oppressors can muster. (Sorry, British readers)

So for those interested in some orchestral frolic, check out the above video for a sample! You iKids can get the album for $7.99 at this link; for the rest, Amazon is currently offering the album for $3.99 as a digital download, or $14.99 for a CD.
