Nintendo has announced that SiNG PARTY will be available on November 18 alongside the Wii U at launch (I still don't understand the lowercase "i", though), and thankfully there will be options if you want to buy it!
See, I hate when karaoke games force you to buy a microphone with it. Between all my singing games, I've got about a half-dozen USB mics in my apartment. And that's not even including the SingStar and Lips ones. (Lips are the best, because they're wireless) The game will be available at retail for $59.99 with a microphone, but you can also download it directly from the eShop for $49.99 and use one of the mics you've already probably got! Although if you do happen to need extras, they're going to be available at $24.99.
SiNG PARTY is a lot of fun, although I suppose I'm biased because I love my music games. But the Party Mode is a lot of fun. While you can also sing along and get scored on how well you do, I love that Party Mode includes all your friends, not just two people at a time. In case you missed my earlier article, you sing by reading the lyrics off the Wii U GamePad, so you can face your friends and not be tethered to the TV with your back to them. And the audience gets to sing along with the chorus as the lyrics appear on the TV for them. There's also choreography, but obviously, they're not being scored because there's no way it can tell what you're doing without a camera. It's still fun, though!
I'm so all over this whenever I get a Wii U. (Although with pre-orders sold out everywhere, that might be a while!)
