I would love to proclaim Telltale Games' The Walking Dead as my Game Of The Year as so many other outlets have, but unfortunately I've been unable to finish it because I encountered the unfortunate glitch that won't let you continue your save game (and I haven't had a few hours to play through Episode 4 in one sitting). But let me tell you that it is an absolutely fantastic game and well worth playing. Well, I suppose it could all fall apart in the fifth and final episode, but based on the quality of the first four (well, three-and-a-half), that doesn't seem likely.
Anyway, this is all to let you know that Telltale Games has announced that the retail version of The Walking Dead is now slated for a December 11 release date in the United States and Canada. The game is available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
There's also a limited Collector's Edition bundle for Xbox 360 and PS3 for $69.99 exclusively from GameStop that includes an exclusive edition of The Walking Dead Compendium One collecting the first 48 issues of the unbelievably amazing comic book series that started this whole thing. If you want to go to Best Buy, they'll be offering a limited edition cover varient as well as an exclusive poster insert. Best Buy is also the only place you can get the disc-based retail version for PC. They'll be announcing retail release dates for non-North American territories soon, so stay tuned. Everyone else, check this game out!
