Celebrating Hyrule Historia

And she earned the grand prize, and this amazing statue!

DSC_0025On Friday, January 25, Nintendo held a special event at its Nintendo World Store in New York City to launch Hyrule Historia, a new art book published by Dark Horse Comics. The book itself comes out on Tuesday, January 29, (at which point, I will be posting a review), but from 6-8 pm on Friday night, fans could get their hands on a copy early, and enjoy festivities including refreshments and a costume contest. This explains why the line went down the block and stayed going down the block for the entire two hours despite the temperature being about 20 degrees and snow falling from the sky. Zelda fans are dedicated.

After the jump, you’ll find an entire photo gallery of the event including all the entrants in the costume contest. Some of them were pretty impressive, and I totally agree with the winner (and am totally jealous of her prize!).

(Apologies for the gallery… it’s one of the things that we haven’t quite nailed down with the redesign…)

(Writer) I love Animal Crossing, music games (even though I can’t sing or play instruments) and adventure games. And the occasional 40+ hr JRPG when I can find the time! I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband, Frank.
