This week, it’s all about Ni No Kuni. Despite Digital River’s best efforts to thwart me, I bought the game from an actual store and even though it didn’t come with all the awesome swag, I’m still enjoying the game. Well, aside from one little issue… find out what it is by watching after the jump!

About Chris Eades

I also pre-ordered back in August and those of us who got fucked over by this incompetent company deserved priority.

There are people who got multiple copies sent to them even when they didn’t order them on January 17th and January 23rd, AND there are people who didn’t even get charged for them!

I desire blood and retribution. It is beyond unfair to those of us who got nothing. They haven’t even sent anything regarding this hardcover strategy guide we are supposed to get.

Have you seen how much those scalpers want for it on e-bay? that’s ridiculous….the thing’s selling for 500 bucks…I just don’t believe that book is THAT beautiful….if it was a leather bound, gold-lettered work of art…well..maybe…but I doubt it…..and yet people are willing to pay that crazy money….

it still beats me how they managed to generate such enormous demand…it’s not like ads for this game were on TV the whole year or something….or is this a some kind of deliberate campaign…”let’s make a GREAT GAME and then publish as little copies as possible….AND WATCH THEM FIGHT FOR IT….THAT’S EVIL MWAHAHAHA…” …but doesn’t really make sense :)

I’m guessing Ni no Kuni features a lot of voice acting and I’m guessing it’s all in English, right? If so, is there a Japanese audio option? Or is the English audio tolerable? It’s a pet peeve of mine when I basically have to choose between either terrible English anime dub-style voice acting or turning the voices off entirely (as I did in every Tales game released in English). So I hope they got it right in this game.

V, there is a Japanese voice option. You can toggle English/Japanese from the main menu, so you can sample both. There were two sections to the demo a while back, so I tried one in Japanese and one in English. I preferred the Japanese voices, so I went with that for the full game and never looked back.
