I don’t know what Harmonix is working on that they decided to stop producing DLC for Rock Band at the beginning of April, but now that they’ve also announced today that the March DLC will be the last for Dance Central 3, it had better be something really amazing.
“As Harmonix moves forward with several new titles currently in development, the talented developers who make this content are needed on other projects,” Harmonix wrote in a blog post. “With the Dance Central DLC team moving around, this month will be the last DLC for Dance Central 3 for the near future.”
The Music Store will still be around if you want to buy any routines you didn’t pick up when they were released, and Harmonix will still be supporting the DC community with new Live Challenges and leaderboards. But it looks like that’s it for Harmonix DLC for now. (I’m still clinging to that “for the near future” like a life preserver!) Hope to hear more about whatever new projects Harmonix is developing very, very soon!

I guess this means their years-old promise to eventually release every Beatles song for Beatles Rock Band isn’t happening, either.
A shame, there were a few songs from Revolver and The White Album I was hoping to play in there, and a laundry list of songs by other bands I was hoping to see in regular Rock Band.
Alas, it seems the end of an era is upon us…
