I can’t even with this. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F was released for the PlayStation 3 today (in stores and via the PlayStation Network). Apparently she’s super popular in Japan, so after gauging gamer interest in the West, they decided to bring this game over to the US. I was curious enough about what it was all about to watch the trailer. Holy crap!
I love a good rhythm game as much as the next person, but this looks insanely difficult! Especially that clip of the Nyan Cat song, which looks like it would sprain my fingers trying to keep up.
There are 38 songs in the game, but they’re all stuff I’ve never heard of (except for the Nyan Cat tune), and sung by the digital diva with her “vocaloid” voice, so it’s not like you can really sing along. (I think you’ll be too busy frantically pressing buttons to even try!) It’s all very weird and very Japanese. Although there is an edit mode where you can create your own rhythm videos to any music you like, so that could be fun. Although I wish you could customize more than just the other characters’ rooms and such. It seems like you can’t create your own idol since Hatsune Miku is a very specific character.
Still, it looks just insane enough that I might love it if it isn’t as hard as this trailer makes it seem. I’m going to go download the demo and see for myself… you can do the same if you like after you check out the trailer below!
