Well, it happened. I had my heart broken. It was inevitable, really, but this was so out of the blue and unexpected… oh, just make the jump and I’ll explain…
I found Gulliver passed out on my beach again, but I could not wake him up no matter how hard I tried. Then I realized that it might be because my town gates were open in case anyone wanted to come visit. And sure enough, as soon as I closed my gates, I went back and Gulliver woke up almost immediately. Hm. Anyway, he was very clearly describing Japan as the place he was heading for, so it was a pretty easy one this time around.
And sure enough, the next day, I had a letter from Gulliver that read: “How are you? I’m fine! Right now, I’m relaxing in Japan while enjoying the culture! My gift for you is a figurine of a very classic tower. Isn’t it super cool?” And enclosed was this pagoda, which I placed in my museum room of Gulliver souvenirs.
My friend Rob came over and showed me that you can go cliff diving! I had no idea! All you have to do is put on your wet suit and then find a bit of cliff where there’s not beach below you and jump off! It’s so much fun! I did it a half dozen times before I figured I should move on. It’s annoying that there’s only a tiny spot of water where there’s no beach and you can jump from, though. And also that you can’t jump off the waterfall or anything. How awesome would that be?
I was harvesting my perfect peaches to sell in a neighboring town for mucho bells, but I was horrified when suddenly the whole top of the tree basically fell along with the fruit! Oh noes! And when I went to plant one of those fruits in the exact spot where there had been a tree, it immediately wilted and wouldn’t grow anything! Rude!
We had fireworks again this week, and it’s the final show of the month. Unfortunately, I got a repeat bopper off Isabelle, so I was glad that my friend Kevin gave me this star bopper, which is the one I liked the best and never got for myself. Yay! I set off the fountain firework she gave me so we could enjoy it together, but I’ve been hoarding fireworks all month so I can space them out and enjoy them year ’round!
Also this week there was a new present you could get from the post office, a lovely little afternoon tea set. Which I naturally put in my classy room full of rococo furniture. Because if we’re going to have tea, we’re being classy.
I don’t know why Tiffany asked me this, except maybe to make sure I wasn’t taking any of the makeup she needed to cake on her face every day. I’d like to say that there’s enough for everyone, but I”m pretty sure Tiffany is hoarding it all for herself. When I said I didn’t, she replied with “Of course, more and more men are wearing makeup these days. Nothing wrong with trying to look good!”Gosh, that’s so progressive!
I was stunned when I checked in one day this week and Isabelle warned me that Molly was about to move out so I should go and say good-bye to her. Seriously? She hadn’t said a single thing to me about it. I was flabbergasted. But sure enough, when I swung by her place, she was all packed up. At least she apologized for not mentioning it to me sooner. Like, when I would’ve been able to talk her out of it…
Sadly, once she was packed, Molly was definitely leaving. Nothing I could do about it. I mean, she wasn’t one of my all-time favorite neighbors, but she was still sweet and I had nothing against her. Which is probably why she included this photo of herself in her good-bye letter which read: “Missing You, Chris! Moving day is finally here and I’m missing you already. I’ve enclosed a picture of me so you’ll never forget the time we spent together! From a lonely Molly” Awww… That’s so sweet. I remember one of the other towns I lived in, people would give you photos of themselves when you got to be like, best friends. I guess here to collect photos you have to be really good friends and then let them move out of your town. That hardly seems like a good deal! I know one photo I’m never going to collect, and that’s Tiffany’s… because I will never let her move!
This is what I demolished that fugly boot sculpture for: a flower arch. It’s much prettier and in keeping with the style of Geneva. There’s a whole bunch of random stuff that people have requested that I have absolutely no intention of ever building. Like the stadium lights or the jungle gym. I want to keep this town classy. (Although to be honest, the light-up heart is probably next on my list, even though that’s probably the farthest thing from classy!)
Oh yeah, one last thing. There’s been all this chatter recently about Macklemore… you know, the um, singer? Rapper? Musical artist. And I came to realize that with my haircut and bandleader jacket, I kind of resembled him. And since I kind of hate that song he sings (although I totally appreciate the sentiment), I decided I needed a makeover before someone thought I was a big fan or something. So I swapped out for this dragon jacket after getting my hair buzzed at Shampoodle. Much better!
