Kingdom Hearts Gets Remixed Again! 1

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX must have done alright for Square Enix, because they’ve announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX has officially begun development for release next year on the PlayStation 3!

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is an HD remastered compilation of the next games in the series, including the PS2 title Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and the PSP game Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix. Both of those are the previously Japanese-only releases of the games, by the way. Oh, and it will also include all the cutscenes from the Nintendo DS game Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, if you want to sit through those for a Trophy.

Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of Kingdom Hearts II, but that was mostly because of that stupid gummi ship minigame in between levels. It just got really annoying to me. But I thought Birth By Sleep was really good, and one of my favorite games on the PSP (not that there was a whole lot of competition on that system, but still). And it’s also a nice way to refresh your memory before Kingdom Hearts III hits the PS4 and XboxOne… whenever that day may be!

(Writer) I love Animal Crossing, music games (even though I can’t sing or play instruments) and adventure games. And the occasional 40+ hr JRPG when I can find the time! I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband, Frank.

Kingdom Hearts 2 was the last one that satisfied my itch for Disney and Final Fantasy fanservice. After that the writers seemed to decide the corporate restrictions were too limiting and focused on the original characters instead. The Disney party members got reduced to cameos and the Final Fantasy characters nearly vanished.
