Have you found yourself sitting on a great idea for an article or a feature about video games? Board games? Cosplay? Got something to say about queer issues in gaming? Or maybe you’re just really passionate about a certain series or character?
If so then GayGamer would like to hear from you!
GayGamer is currently accepting submissions for new contributing writers for our main site and vloggers to create video content for our YouTube channel.
If you’ve ever fancied yourself a voice in the gaming industry, now is your chance.
Read more for submission details.
If interested in joining the GayGamer team as a contributing writer please submit a cover letter, writing resume (if available), and writing samples to email@example.com (Links to websites, blogs, etc. are perfectly acceptable!)
Trans, female, and writers of color are highly encouraged to apply! GayGamer does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, physical ability, or sexual identity. We are hoping to diversify our writing pool and bring as many different voices from the community to the forefront as possible. (That being said, white cisgendered heterosexual men are more than welcome so long as you’re an ally to the queer community.)
We are looking to expand our coverage beyond just video games, so if you’re interested in tabletop gaming, card games, comic books, and any other geeky interests please apply!
Writers must be 18+ for legal purposes.
Experience in the world of games journalism a plus but not required.
This is a no-pay, volunteer position (for the time being) but a great opportunity for talented writers looking to break into the world of games journalism and culture blogging. Many of our writers over the years have gone on to forge great careers in the gaming industry, with GayGamer making up the bulk of their early resume.
If you’re interested in joining GayGamer as a vlogger please submit a cover letter and links to video samples (personal YouTube channels, other videos you’ve been a part of etc.) to firstname.lastname@example.org
Vloggers will be expected to submit regular video content to our editorial staff, which will then be featured on the official GayGamer YouTube channel.
If you don’t have any experience vlogging but think it might be something you’d be interested in, feel free to respond and tell us about yourself. You would be expected to provide your own equipment to create your videos.
As with writing this is a no-pay, volunteer position (for the time being) but an opportunity to reach a wider audience, get a start in the gaming industry, and help bring more visibility to the queer gaming community.
Vloggers must be 18+ for legal purposes.
We will be going over applications over the next month as we prepare some major updates to the site. Looking forward to hear from you soon!
