Wootini’s Weekly Video Podcast #172 1

Well, obviously there’s only one topic for me to talk about this week, and it’s the Tomodachi Life controversy with Nintendo stirring up the angry hornets nest that is the gaymer community. I have my own opinions on the various issues, and you’ll find it after the jump!

(Writer) I love Animal Crossing, music games (even though I can’t sing or play instruments) and adventure games. And the occasional 40+ hr JRPG when I can find the time! I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband, Frank.

The game’s tagline is,”Your Friends, Your Drama, Your Life.” I was intrigued and excited about game, but the exclusion of gay people is a is deal breaker. I just don’t see the point in playing a life simulation game that incorporates my Mii, a character that is supposed to represent ME, except for one of the core attributes that makes me who I am. Certain game goals require a romantic relationship. I’m gay, but my character MUST be straight to successfully progress in this game. My life, and who I love are not evil or offensive, nor are they something that should be hidden from the world. I’m not going to boycott Nintendo, but I’m not going to buy this game. If Nintendo stays true to their word, and includes gay people, I’ll buy the next one.
