Hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July vacations! I did, and now I’m back after a week off with another vidcast! Make the jump to watch this episode where I rave about the new movie I saw, reveal the quirky new game I’m kind of obsessed with, and then talk about my trepidation to start another one. (Even though I just bought two games on sale with no idea when I’m ever going to get around to actually playing them!)

About Chris Eades

(Writer) I love Animal Crossing, music games (even though I can't sing or play instruments) and adventure games. And the occasional 40+ hr JRPG when I can find the time! I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and our hamster, Ch'p.

I have not been playing my Tomodachi Life anything LIKE regularly, and I haven’t noticed any ill effects. It’s not like Animal Crossing where there are penalties for not playing, like weeds or cockroaches or anything. I’m not sure if character relationships weaken over time, but it doesn’t seem like it. It doesn’t even seem like there are penalties for neglecting to feed your islanders — I just booted the game up for the first time in a week, and the first islander I checked in on had a full stomach.

There are *benefits* to playing regularly though. Every day brings new clothes, hats, foods, and apartment themes to the shops. And every day that you play, you get a donation of bonus game money from your inhabitants. Beyond that, there are daily events that only happen at certain times of the day, like a rap battle at the fountain for one hour in the evening.

Try out the demo. I’m very curious what you think about it. :)
