Dear Diary,

Phew! This week was a lot quieter than last week. I mean, it would have to be, right? They can’t all be jam-packed with activity! Sometimes I just like to visit Geneva, chat with some of my neighbors and water some flowers and dig up some fossils. Easy living. No stress. It’s nice.

Although that’s not to say this week wasn’t without any drama at all. I had to stop two people from moving away! Two of them! Oh, and we got our new neighbor… who plopped her house down in a not particularly great area. Read on for the deets!

My Twitter feed has been blowing up the last few weeks with people posting pictures of their progress on the recent iPad experience Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. In a moment of weakness, I downloaded the game for myself.

When we last left our faithful Paladins (er, excuse me…I mean Paladine), they were engaged in simple castle courtyard chores like picking up straw and shoveling horse poopies. But that all came to a screeching halt when alarms sounded; Castle Sanctum was under attack!!!

It was previously reported that after only its second year the queer-friendly gaming convention GaymerX would be no more. Numerous reasons were cited for the con’s end, the biggest one being a significant lack of financial support from sponsors and game companies to help with the event’s already high costs. Running a game convention at a major hotel in one of the most expensive cities in the world is no small feat, and organizers Toni Rocca and Matt Conn have publicly shared their uncertainty of holding another con, let alone breaking even on the first two. Since then a number of game developers have stepped up with financial support for the convention.

Today it has been announced that GaymerX is coming back for a third year and will be rebranded as GX3: Everyone Games.

First I’ve got a little something to say about the new Doctor Who, and if you’re a fan of the series, you might not like what I’ve got to say. Then it’s on to videogames, where I talk a little bit about the two new Vita games that I sampled thanks to PlayStation Plus, and how it makes me frustrated that those are all the Vita seems to get anymore. This week’s episode is after the jump!

Longtime GayGamer readers are no doubt familiar with Luciano Costa, the openly gay face model for Mass Effect‘s Kaidan. When not helping save the universe from the Reapers or modeling that gorgeous face of his, Costa runs with the SoCal Social Club, organizing recreational and networking events for the LGBTQ community of Southern California. Today (well, yesterday) he joined the masses by participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

I know, I know….your internet has been clogged with these videos, but it’s all for a good cause and anyone with a crush on Kaidan will no doubt enjoy this one.
