Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Dated for USA?

If there is one thing I will say about Atlus, it is that they are not afraid to localize just about anything. Seriously, when was the last time that they decided NOT to bring something to the US? Not that I'm complaining, you stick their logo on something and I'll be first in line for a preorder.

That being said, there has been no confirmation that Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is getting released in the United States. Or has there? Amazon released a pre-order listing for March 10, 2010 for the title. Confirmation? No, but it certainly does make the little title a lot more likely.

Okay, so it's really not much of a shock. Lets hope that Atlus isn't going to leave us in the dark for this one, and if I can see the game in five months I'll be more than happy to ablidge them with my $40.

Out of all the system in my collection, the one void that I've always wanted to fill was the Atari Lynx. The oversized black brick with a color screen has been on my "do want" list since I saw it guest star on Clarissa Explains it All in that annoying little run Ferguson's hands. I sware to god that was the only thing in his school back pack. I think that's all that would fit.

My obsession with dated, slightly avant garde game hardware aside the system really doesn't have much of a place in modern society. Or does it? Development by Super Fighter Team as produced Zaku, a new "Air Zonk" style Shoot 'um up for the dated little system. Further more, the game is being launched on the system itself and not just an internet downloadable rom.

La-Mulana WiiWare: Screenshots Uncovered!

La-Mulana is easily one of the best indie games I've played for the PC in recent years, and you my lucky little readers are going to get to see it come to the Wii as a WiiWare download. Can't wait? Gaijin Games has started selling the soundtrack for the first title, Bit. Trip Beat. The album consists of 10 tracks, of varying lengths and will run you either $0.99 a track or $5.99 for the full release from CDBaby.

There are also talks of releasing the songs through other popular download services such as Amazon, iTunes and the like on the 27th as well, if you want to use those. Personally, I don't feel like waiting. Chiptunes make a happy coder.

I'm a firm believer in downloadable games. Call me weird but I don't really like waiting on UMD load times, even if that means not really owning a physical copy of a title. That could change if more games opt into the Gran Turismo PSP style install system but how knows when that will happen. Well, I'm certainly not in the majority on this, and if you missed out on the download exclusive Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman: What Did I Do To Deserve This release, you may be in luck.

The company RosenQueen aparently struck a deal with the publishers of the title and it just might see a physical printing... if you give them a little help that is:

If we get 1,000 orders, we will then begin production of these UMDs. We will be able to start shipping out to you by the mid December if 1,000 units of preorder is received. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause you. Please note, that we will stop taking orders on November 13th.

Seems reasonable enough. Considering the quality of the game, it seems reasonable that 1,000 units will be sold in no time. I personally am quite glad that I picked up this title already, but anyone who has missed out for personal reasons should hop on the wagon. Who knows, this might even encorage them to release the sequels in the US. Fingers crossed!
