Now, what else makes this game nearly impossible to pick up? the cryptic display. Seriously, the ascii only goes so far. There are some nice sprite packs out there, but they never really feel... complete. Enter Stonesense, the isometric visualizer. It renders Dwarf Fortress in beautiful 3/4 view pixel glory. Hotness. Now, it is a huge CPU suck on an already pretty hefty game and the sprite set is incomplete at best, but frankly, I think you'll all manage.
